Conventional car wisdom says buy the best example you can afford, treat it gingerly, pamper it even. But this blog is for people who go the other route, often buying up cars for a song, and committing many hours of our lives just to get them back into service, this blog is for people who want a project, who want to learn bodywork, to weld, people who want to know every aspect of their machine. people who collect tools , people who spend hours fretting about parts that are broken, people who then turn around and drive the piss out of what they worked so hard on, these aren’t trailer queens, these are the ratty product of a bunch of shadetrees.. but there is more to it than that.  In adopting these projects you push the limits of what you know and what you don’t. you learn, you interact. sure there are specialists who will do a better job, but the job is only part of the equation here, in fact for some of us it is equal parts Pride in doing your own work (a job well done), enthusiasm for your old machine, enjoyment of your old machine, and the joy of learning and doing as a process.

This is the place where a select group of mixed nuts will be documenting such efforts.
